Quality assurance in social care
Quality assurance is how a provider checks — routinely and independently — that care is safe and good, and acts when it is not. Regulation 17 requires systems to assess, monitor and improve quality, and CQC looks closely at whether those systems actually work.
MyCareCompliance brings practical CQC audits, evidence, workforce oversight and improvement actions into one platform for adult social care providers.

Who it applies to
Registered managers, nominated individuals and directors responsible for oversight.
The building blocks
- An audit programme covering key risks at sensible frequencies
- Feedback from people, families, staff and professionals
- Monitoring of incidents, complaints, safeguarding and training
- Oversight by someone senior who is not completing the work
- A single improvement plan that pulls all findings together
Making it effective
- Audits must find problems — 100% every month is a warning sign
- Findings need owners, deadlines and evidence of completion
- Reports to the provider should show trends, not just this month
- The provider must challenge and act on what it is told
Internal audit questions
- 1.Is there a written audit schedule and is it followed?
- 2.Do audits identify issues, and are those issues fixed?
- 3.Does the provider receive a regular quality report?
- 4.Is feedback from people using the service acted on?
Practical checklist
- Audit schedule agreed
- Feedback surveys running
- Monthly quality report produced
- Improvement plan reviewed by the provider
