MyCareCompliance training and how-to guides
Short walkthroughs to help your team get set up and make the most of MyCareCompliance. Work through them in order the first time, then come back whenever you need a refresher.
MyCareCompliance brings practical CQC audits, evidence, workforce oversight and improvement actions into one platform for adult social care providers.
7 days free. Plans from £24.99 per organisation per month, inclusive of VAT. Features vary by plan. Compare plans and trial terms.
1. Getting started: your first 30 minutes
Sign in at mycarecompliance.org/login with your work email. Open Settings and check your organisation name, logo and locations. Add each location with its service type (care home, home care or supported living) — this sets your recommended audit frequencies. Then invite your team from Team, choosing the right role for each person.
2. Reading your dashboard
The dashboard shows your overall compliance score and a ring for each CQC key question: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Green is on track, amber needs attention and red needs action now. Below the rings you'll see overdue items, what is due this week and recent activity — start each day here.
3. Setting your audit schedule
Go to Audit schedule to see every audit with its recommended frequency. Change a frequency to suit your service, or mark an audit as not applicable with a short reason (inspectors will ask why). Use 'Schedule standard audits' to create the year's programme in one step.
4. Completing an audit
Open an audit from Audits or the calendar and click Start. For each question choose Pass, Partial, Fail or N/A, add a comment and attach evidence where you can. Anything marked Partial or Fail can become an action. Click Complete when finished — the score feeds straight into your dashboard.
5. Managing action plans
Every action has an owner, a due date and a priority. Update progress as work happens and upload evidence when it's done. Open actions carry forward into the next audit, so nothing gets lost. Overdue actions turn red and trigger reminder emails to the owner.
6. Building your evidence library
Upload policies, certificates, meeting minutes and photos to Evidence and link them to CQC quality statements. Set expiry dates so you're reminded before documents go out of date. When inspection comes, your evidence is already organised by key question.
7. Staff files, training and competencies
Add each worker under Staff and upload DBS, right to work, references, training and supervision records with their expiry dates. Use Competencies to complete spot checks and observations — staff sign them off in the Employee Hub, and signed assessments are locked as evidence.
8. Incidents, complaints and safeguarding
Log incidents, complaints, compliments and safeguarding concerns as they happen. The system prompts follow-up reviews and flags anything that may need a CQC notification, so you can submit it on time.
9. Feedback surveys
Create a survey for people using the service, families or staff, then download the QR code (white or transparent background) to print on posters or letters. Responses appear instantly and count as evidence for Caring and Responsive.
10. Reports and governance
Use Reports to produce monthly governance reports, audit summaries and inspection-readiness packs as PDFs. Share them with directors, commissioners or your nominated individual.
11. Asking the AI assistant
Open Assistant and ask questions in plain English, such as 'Which audits are overdue?' or 'What staff training expires this month?'. It only uses your own service's information and gives general CQC guidance — it doesn't replace professional, clinical or legal advice.
12. Supported living services
Supported living providers can use the Supported Living Service Audit, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Audit and STOMP Audit. Switch them on from Audit schedule if they don't already appear for your service. For practical guidance see mycarecompliance.org/learning-disability-autism-guidance, and for free Oliver McGowan training access see mycarecompliance.org/oliver-mcgowan-training — record each certificate on the staff member's Workforce record.
13. Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training — register for free
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is the government's recommended training for care staff, and part 1 (the e-learning) is free for every member of staff on the NHS England elearning for healthcare portal. Each person registers with their own named email address — shared or company addresses can't be used — completes the e-learning, then downloads the certificate and uploads it to their training record here.
- Everyone completes part 1, the free e-learning, whatever their tier
- Tier 1 staff then attend a 1-hour live online session; Tier 2 staff attend a full-day face-to-face session
- In a supported living or learning disability service, most care staff need Tier 2
- Registration problems: the elfh support desk at support.e-lfh.org.uk
